Description Terrestrial telescope consisting of six sections. The tubes are made of wood. The largest tube is covered with green leather with gold tooling, while the others are covered with cardboard and red marbled paper. The objective lens, signed on the glass and with a boxwood mounting, is biconvex; it measures 65 mm in diameter and has an aperture of 40 mm. From the second to the fifth tube there are diaphragms in the inside; in the sixth there is a small tube, typical of Giuseppe Campani, which can be inserted in only one way. This erector tube contains two biconvex lenses. The eyepiece consists of a third biconvex lens. The three lenses form the composite eyepiece and have the same focal length. Removing the small tube transforms the telescope from terrestrial to astronomical. This instrument can enlarge objects 36 times.
